Don’t Tax Your Vision!
Did you know...
LASIK, ICLs and Multifocal implants are NOW covered
under your medical Flexible
Spending Account!
What is Flex Spending?
Individuals can now use tax-free Flex Spending
Accounts to get reimbursed for eligible medical expenses. A Flexible
Spending Account or (FSA), (also called flex plan, reimbursement
account, Cafeteria Plan , Flex 125, Tax Saving Plan, Medical Spending
Account), is an employer-sponsored benefit that allows employees
to pay for eligible medical expenses using pre-tax dollars. If employees
expect to incur medical expenses that won't be reimbursed by their
regular health insurance plan, a Flexible
Spending Account is for them. Read more...

Health Plans: Harvard Eye
Associates are in-network providers for literally dozens of
health and vision insurance plans. To find out whether we are
providers with your insurance, please contact us in advance
of your appointment. We provide complimentary insurance billing
and will help you obtain prior authorization for covered procedures
which require this process. Under many circumstances, insurance
companies consider LASIK, Botox, Restylane, Eyelid Rejuvenation
and some other procedures to be non-covered services. As each
case is unique, we encourage you to learn about your own plan's
offerings, and we will assist you in determining your coverage
where possible.
Out of Pocket Options: For
non-covered services, Harvard Eye Associates accepts cash, cashier
check or money order, VISA, and MasterCard. We also provide
financing through Care Credit ,
an independent creditor offering a flexible payment program
specifically designed for healthcare expenses.
Most out-of-pocket procedures like laser vision correction, Crystalens,
Botox, Restylane, and Eyelid Rejuvenation have a single fee that
includes all post-operative visits during the routine follow-up
period. Payment arrangements must be made at least seven days prior to
the procedure.
Please feel free to contact us with your questions.

Flex Spending Accounts
Flexible Spending Account Benefits
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) save you money by reducing your taxes. The contributions
you make to a Flexible Spending Account are deducted from your
paycheck before tax. This decreases your taxable income and increases
your spendable income.
Use it or Lose it!
If the amount you have elected for your FSA plan year is more than your
actual expenses, you will have to forfeit the overage of funds you set
aside. The excess amounts cannot be carried over to the following year
nor can your employer return any money remaining in your FSA to you.
Get
signed up for FSA through your employer today!
Around 90 percent of US
employees work for companies who offer a Flexible Spending Account, but
only about 18% of the US workforce takes advantage of this program, due
to the fact most don’t know about the FSA’s existence.
Ask your human resource director about open enrollment and the details
about flex spending.
